This is off Sinead's most recent set, Theology. It's love song to life, to God {with a bit of unfortunate bitterness, but just don't sing at those parts if you don't want to.} I'd like to sing it, maybe with a funky back beat, to the world. I want to make something beautiful, don't you?

The Prayer of Saint Francis
This is a simply gorgeous musical rendition sung by Sarah McLachlan. I learned the Prayer of Saint Francis in Grade 2, like all good Catholic girls. Through fresh ears, I hear it's impeccable universality, and I adore it. If you can translate "and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life" into the resolution of ego into unity, then it becomes all the more empowering and connective. (more...)
