hot songs: 3 angels to groove your way

It took me a long time to ask for help and not feel weak about it. I thought I needed to behave for God to deliver. I didn't want to ask too much of my cosmic board of advisors, lest I wear out my welcome.

I'm over it. I figure I have an astral tribe of cheerleaders and there's nothing they love more than helping me plot my course to pleasuredom. Maybe some of them are are bangin' funksters, or DaVinci himself. This is what I imagine the classic angelic ones sound like... These are great songs when you're high, low, or on the outside of any door.

Unfortunately, the sound is disabled on this computer, or else I would've loved to have heard your mix....
  • Thank you for reminding me that the cosmic forces are never as far away as it feels sometimes. Music can open doors in the mind.
I was inspired to make my own playlist and post it.
  • emma, I love that movie - Until the end of the World - & I love the soundtrack even more. Danielle, that sound Calling All Angels makes me cry every time I even think of it. Going to listen to the other two now, thanks!
  • Oh wow, thanks so much for introducing me to Bliss. I just downloaded that whole album. Gorgeous, powerful stuff, love it.
  • Lucinda Drayton, the singer, sang at a conference I was at ... all weekend. She's amazing. An angel herself. Sinead O'Connor recorded this song after they released it.
  • Calling All Angels is one of the most beautiful, haunting songs I've ever heard. It's been on my playlist ever since I saw a very odd Wim Wenders movie for which it was part of the soundtrack. And Imogen Heap is an angel in her own right - an inspiring individual who shines so bright, she illuminates the world a bit for the rest of us.

    Well selected! :)

Danielle, these songs are especially poignant to me as my grandmother always called her grandchildren her 'angels'. As I was listening to "Calling All Angels" I couldn't help but think how perfect that song would be for the Haiti telethon being broadcast tonite!

Thank you so much for sharing these with us. We DO need to be reminded of so much on this Earth journey.
  • Thanks for the tunes. I'm so glad that you're "over it." I call on my angels daily as I know they love me unconditionally and they're here to help. I don't have to behave a certain way, affiliate myself with a particular group or show up at some special place. They love me as exactly as I am right now. And if I want their help, all I have to do is ask! Angels are awesome. You are, too! <3
  • "Calling All Angels" has been, for more than five years now, one of my Top 20 songs-of-my-entire-life-soundtrack that never fails to lead me to tears or movement or both. Sometimes I put it on repeat. Sometimes it begins playing in my head spontaneously, in the background of my awareness, as a message about deep connection with vulnerability and compassion.

Thank you for the playlist creator--I love new tools to share wonderful things.
  • Yea! Thanks for the tunes. I love it. I've compiled a playlist I want to give and hadn't figured out the how yet. Thanks a mill for referring me to this easy playlist creator.
Watch for my playlist in February to help make love of the creative process!
  • Thanks, Danielle. I've had these playing repeatedly since opening your post at 3:45 this morning, unable to sleep... I feel surrounded, safe, and strong. Still tired, but not alone.
  • I am in tears this morning sitting in my office with a steaming cup of coffee and listening to song #3 - placed right in front me - the gift of strength. Tough times right now but wow this was the medicine I needed. Again, thank you.
  • 100,000 angels, baby. At least.
  • You are awesome. . .thank you.
